THE FIRST SNOWDROPS




Snowdrops are starting to bloom in the churchyards and hedgerows of southwest England and Wales. Encouraged by the return of mild weather and spurred by several days of winter sun, these milk-flowers are appearing - fragile in appearance but resilient in their reliability as early indicators of spring.
